We're hiring for a few different positions this Summer. We need staff for our Craft & Create DIY Lounge and help with events and kids art camp at the Art Spot studio. We are looking for outgoing, encouraging and customer-focused people that love working with the public--and especially kids. Is that you?
Any position at Craft & Create by Art Spot involves connecting and engaging with customers as soon as they walk up. We want them to feel welcome and invited in. Creating is sometimes a hard and risky endeavor, so we hope that the studio is a safe place to journey through the creative process for kids and adults alike. Oftentimes that looks like encouraging words, helping inspire new ideas, giving advice and teaching techniques. Aside from that, there are the basics of keeping the studio looking nice and presentable, retail sales, tool maintenance, clean-up, inventory etc. We will expect our employees to setup and clean-up art workplaces before guests arrive and after they leave. There will be other manual labor from time-to-time (moving tables and chairs, setting up for events etc). There is also the business side of things. We are looking for someone who has social media skills and maybe some marketing experience. During slow times, we'll have you help us with brainstorming new art ideas/prompts, check inventory, price items, prep for projects, post on social media and list events on local event calendars and more.
Our description of an ideal candidate for this job: You aren't afraid to talk to anyone! In fact--you love people. You're fun to be around and enjoy getting to know people. You love teaching, are creative (you don't HAVE to be a creative--but it would be a huge bonus), optimistic and a hard worker. You're also responsible, consistent and on-time.
If you think you might be a great fit for Craft & Create/Art Spot--we'd love to meet you. Please fill out the form below and we'll get back to you soon. If you don't hear back within 48 hours, please email info@artspotonwheels.com. We can offer part-time hours to begin and can likely accommodate full-time hours as well.Â
